nightmare to remember
I stood on top of the rocky hill, looking down at crow feather. over the years, he had grown into a beautiful stallion. his mate, frosting, walked up to him and they touched noses. i was happy that he was happy. the dappled palomino mare cantered over to her herd and crow feather followed. he had became leader of frosting's herd when her father was killed in a bear ambush. since then, the forest had become off limits. the afternoon had brought a heavy wind so I trotted into the tall grass. lieing down I looked over at the empty dent in the grass where crow feather used to sleep. now that he was a leader, he had to stay with the herd. i was very lonely. i missed heart breaker and dream catcher. after they left, i had stayed in the wild with no mate, and no friends. i longed for someone to be here and to be my friend. closing my eyes, i hummed myself a lullaby.
